Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Plesk

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is crucial for securing online accounts. Traditional password security is vulnerable to hacking and phishing attacks. 2FA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second authentication method in addition to the password, such as a one-time code via an app or SMS. This makes it harder for attackers to gain access even if they have obtained the password. Below are the steps to enable 2FA in Plesk.

  1. Inside the Plesk interface, navigate to the top-right corner, click on your profile name (e.g., John Doe), and choose Edit Profile.

  3. Check the Enable Multi-factor Authentication box. You will then need to scan the displayed QR Code using a compatible Authenticator app on your smartphone, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. After scanning, enter the authentication code provided by the app into the designated field, and click OK.
